Kronos Quartet in conversation - with live music and dance performances by Trinity Laban staff, students and alumni

Join Trinity Laban students and staff at this private celebration, as we award an Honorary Fellowship to the internationally acclaimed Kronos Quartet.

Arguably the most successful chamber group of all time, the Kronos Quartet have spent over 40 years carving out a unique position as one of the world’s most popular string quartets. Unusually, Kronos have managed to combine their popularity with a continual hunger for experimentation. Their work transcends classical music boundaries: they are as well known for their premieres of pieces by Steve Reich and collaborations with Merce Cunningham as they are for their performances with David Bowie and arrangements of Jimi Hendrix.

Inspired by the long running BBC Radio 4 programme Desert Island Discs, this event will see Kronos discuss their astonishing career and the music that matters to them in the company of Trinity Laban Head of Composition, Dr Dominic Murcott. Trinity Laban music and dance staff, students and alumni will be on hand to give a surprise twist to their eight chosen pieces of music. This unique event will commence with the presentation of the Honorary Fellowship and will be followed by a drinks reception to which you are also invited.
